What You'll Do

  • Serve as a key partner to the Camp Director, playing a pivotal role in planning, leading, and executing an epic summer experience.
  • Build relationships with campers, parents, and staff, fostering a supportive and engaging environment.
  • Be flexible and capable of stepping into the role of the Camp Director or other staff members as needed, ensuring seamless camp operations.
  • Contribute to making camp a magical place for campers and staff by taking on any necessary tasks.

Requirements for Assistant Directors

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience working with children.
  • Flexibility and willingness to step into any role at camp as needed.

Logistics for Assistant Directors

Pre-Training:

  • 2-3 hours of self-study prior to leadership training upon being hired.
  • Two Saturdays of leadership training in May.
  • Team dinner at the end of May.

Training: Counselor training during the first weekend of June.

Camp Duration: 4-8 weeks between the second week of June and the first week of August, excluding the week of July 4th. Daily hours are 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Post-Camp:

  • Reflection and celebration activities in August.
  • ~10 hours to close out the year in August.
