Man Thinking About SEL

Problem Solving with Creativity, Confidence, and Resilience

Our program brings together:

Science & Engineering: Our program is aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Math Standards. Modules span all Engineering Design standards outlined in the NGSS for grades 1-5

Design Thinking: Each hands-on challenge is scaffolded by the design thinking process to promote innovative and solutions.

Growth Mindset: We teach specific strategies to help children look at failure as an opportunity to grow.

Mindfulness: We teach breathing techniques and illustrate how keeping calm and a sense of humor lead to better decision making.

Neuroscience: We teach the parts of the brain and explain how individual choices can become patterns of behavior over time.

Collaboration: We teach specific strategies for setting norms, delegating tasks, and giving feedback.

Making an Impact

The teachers who have implemented Imagineerz@School continually tell us:

  • Design thinking and making teach children how to think outside the box.
  • Children who typically succeed with academics get to experience failure and learn to rebound.
  • Children who struggle with academics get a confidence boost and an opportunity to shine through the hands-on projects.

According to a 2017 report from the Institute for the Future, 85% of the jobs in 2030 haven’t been invented yet! To be prepared, our children will need more than just knowledge. They will need the ability to acquire new knowledge, navigate uncertainties, and solve problems. That is what we provide through Imagineerz!

Getting Growth Mindset Right

At Imagineerz, we teach children specific language and strategies to take on challenges – and when they experience success, they build self-confidence.

Our child-friendly tools that make overcoming obstacles less daunting.

Our vocabulary of “Stop Signs” and “ICAN” helps kids identify what is in their way and how to get past it – whether they are struggling with their Imagineerz creations or traditional schoolwork.
