In Module 4, Imagineerz-in-training dive into the exhilarating world of amusement park design, where the thrills of momentum and force await. Through the process of designing, prototyping, and testing their own amusement park rides, students not only utilize design thinking but also become proficient in the Imagineerz i-Can! problem-solving technique. This hands-on exploration introduces them to the practical applications of ramps, pulleys, levers, and wheels, empowering them to achieve their ambitious engineering goals. It’s a journey that promises to transform their understanding of physics and engineering principles through the joy of creation and innovation.

On the social-emotional learning front, this module takes a deep dive into the fascinating world of neuroplasticity, encouraging Imagineerz-in-training to cultivate new healthy habits. By exploring brain anatomy and physiology, students gain insights into how neurons interact within the human brain, applying strategies such as “Whoops!”, “How?”, and “Yet!” to navigate and overcome obstacles. This journey is not just about understanding physics but also about leveraging the power of Take Positive Action to form new synaptic pathways, thus fostering lifelong healthy habits. By learning from historical inventors and incorporating physics concepts, like levers, pulleys, inclined planes, and wheels and axles into their creations, students exit this module equipped with the knowledge and skills to create smooth motion, redirect force, move heavy objects, and harness the power of gravity, all while developing a resilient and growth-oriented mindset.
